SEECHILD celebrates Women’s Day 2023

Penninah Nakandi, an official of SEECHILD said that her organization sees skilling as the best way of disarming disability, which was why they took the option of celebrating women’s day by teaching their members trades.

SEECHILD (Sustainable and Effective Empowerment of Children with Disabilities), a local non-profit organization that works with children living with disabilities has opted to celebrate this year’s women’s day by empowering its stakeholders with vocational skills.

During the celebration that took place at the organization’s headquarters at Mutundwe, in Rubaga Division, several children living with disabilities and their mothers were given training in occupations such as baking, cooking, soap making, etc. They were also sensitized about hygiene and environmental issues.

The training were supported by fraternal institutions such as Uganda Small Scale Industrial Association (Women’s Desk), Spouts of Water, and Buganda Kingdom.
